Parque Fray Jorge and Valle del Encanto

The Fray Jorge National Park is located about 115 km south of La Serena and is a cloud forest. This means that the plants draw their water only from the fog. This phenomenon and the type of vegetation is otherwise only known in the south, where the climate is different from the semi-desert of the IV region. This makes this forest all the more special.

Not far away there is another interesting valley with petroglyphs and holes carved in the stone, where the constellation of Scorpio is supposed to be reflected at a certain date. On the way to Valle del Encanto you can visit the Tabalí winery, which is located along the way.
